Brenda joined the Birmingham Chapter of IAAP® in 1998 when the organization was PSI®, Professional Secretaries International. As a member of the Birmingham Chapter, Brenda has held the offices of President, President-Elect and 2nd Vice President. In addition to the offices held, Brenda has chaired the Publicity Committee, Strategic Planning Committee, Seminar Committee, Parliamentarian Committee, and the Bylaws and Standing Rules Committee. She has worked on the following committees – Building Fund, Telephone and Reservations, Certification, and Administrative Professionals Day Luncheon. Brenda was also chosen as the Birmingham Chapter 2002 Administrative Professional of the Year. Brenda received her CPS 1999 and her CAP in 2002. In addition, Brenda a former member of Strictly Toastmasters, holds the CTM, Competent Toastmaster, certification. Service to the Division Board includes Certification Committee Chair, Administrative Professional Event Director, and Co-Chair for the 2006-2007 Student Conference Committee. Brenda was also a member of the 2006-2007 Alabama Division Meeting Committee. She is employed with Kamber Narrow Fabric Machinery, LLC. as the Executive Assistant to the CEO and owner of the company. Prior to Kamber Narrow, Brenda was employed at the Children’s Hospital in Birmingham, AL, from 1994 to 2008 where she was the Manager of Operations for the Department of Family Services. In addition, Brenda facilitates quarterly classes in HR and Training at UAB. Brenda is also a member of NAFE, National Association of Female Executives, and AEAP, Association of Executive and Administrative Assistants – formerly – National Association of Executive Secretaries and Administrative Assistants. She was a Volunteer for the Children’s Center of Blount County doing Child Abuse Programs in the county schools. Brenda also served on the College Office Administration Department Advisory Committee, Strategic Analysis Team, and Industry and Business Council at Lawson State – Bessemer Campus. Brenda and husband, Bill, have been married for 42 years. They have two daughters, Bridgette and Becky, and 4 grandchildren – Hannah, Maddy, Haley, and Brooks.
