Carolyn Drake CPS/CAP 2009-2010 Alabama Division Immediate Past President

Carolyn has been a member of IAAP since 1999 and is a charter member of the Huntsville Chapter.  Prior to helping charter the Huntsville Chapter in April 2002, she was a member of the Decatur Chapter.  She received her Certified Professional Secretary rating in May 2004 and her Certified Administrative Professional rating in November 2006.  She was the 2005 Huntsville Chapter Administrative Professional of the Year.

Carolyn has served on the Alabama Division Board as President-Elect in 07-08, Vice President in 06-07, Secretary in 05-06 and Parliamentary Advisor in 04-05.  She served as the Division Audit Committee Chair in 2002-2003 and has also served in every office at the chapter level and chaired various committees. 

Carolyn is employed at Toyota Motor Manufacturing Alabama.  She joined Toyota in July 2002 and helped launch the new plant in Huntsville, Alabama.  She is an Administrative Assistant in the Manufacturing Organization providing support to Mr. Tom Cashin and Mr. Vernon Stephens, Production Managers and thirty five floor supervisors.  Prior to joining Toyota, she worked for twelve years providing administrative support at the business consulting firm of Beason & Nalley, P.C., first as Administrative Assistant and then Communications Specialist.

Carolyn was born and raised in St. Petersburg, Florida, but has called Alabama home since 1988.  She lives in Big Cove, Alabama and attends Big Cove Holiness Church.  She has been married to her high school sweetheart, Marlin and they have a seven year old daughter, C.J.  When not busy with church or IAAP activities, she enjoys spending time with her family doing fun activities.  She loves to watch HGTV in those rare moments when she has time to sit and enjoy a program.

Carolyn believes she would not be where she is today if it were not for the love and support her family gives her and had she not joined IAAP and grown both professionally and personally through the great educational and networking resources that IAAP offers.
