Alabama Division Secretary

Cindy joined IAAP as a member-at-large and was introduced to IAAP and its members when she attended the Alabama Division Meeting in Mobile, Alabama. After attending the meeting, she joined the Decatur Chapter and became involved immediately. Since becoming a Decatur Chapter member, Cindy has served as Secretary, Treasurer and served as Chapter President from 2003-2005 and 2007-2008, currently serving as Immediate Past President. She was co-chairman of the 2004 PEC hosted by the Decatur Chapter and has also chaired various committees for the Chapter. She was recognized at the 2005 International Convention as Distinguished Chapter President and was also recognized by Tia Theriaque CAP, International Director - Southeast District with a Leadership Award for excellent leadership of the Decatur Chapter earning the highest net membership increase in the Southeast District for 2004-2005.

Cindy has served on several committees at the Division level. Most recently served as Coordinator for the 2009 Alabama Division Meeting. Other committee positions include: Student Chapter Program Director (2007-2008), Alabama Division Parliamentary Advisor (2006-2007), Chairman of the Website Committee (2005-2006) and served on the Nominations Committee (2004-2005).

Cindy graduated from Decatur High School and received an Associate degree in Secretarial Science from Calhoun Community College and is now attending Athens State University to pursue a degree in Business Administration with graduation on the horizon in 2010. Cindy obtained her Certified Professional Secretary rating in 2001 and the Certified Administrative Professional in 2005. She is also a member of the Certification Academy.

Since 2003, Cindy has been employed by Cerro Wire Inc., in Hartselle, Alabama as Executive Assistant to the General Manager, Rick McDonald. Prior to Cerrowire she worked for the Decatur City Schools as school secretary and bookkeeper for five years and previously owned and operated a dry cleaning business for seven years. For the past 26 years, Cindy has been married to Roger and they have one son, Josh, who is attending Athens State University. Cindy and Roger are active members of Decatur Baptist Church.
